Effective Economic Development requires the ability to recognize potential projects, to structure deals innovatively, to take risks appropriately and to strengthen and enhance the sense of community.

The staff of Monadnock Economic Development Corporation consists of individuals whose areas of expertise provide the internal support necessary for successful economic development. Each member of the MEDC team offers a skill set relevant to productive project work while individually interfacing with prospective and current customers, city, county, state and federal officials, community representatives and other economic development colleagues.

Monadnock Economic Development Corporation Personnel

John G. Dugan has served as MEDC President since 1991. In this capacity, Jack has developed over $105 million worth of real estate and 1.3 million square feet of commercial and industrial space. He has helped create and retain thousands of jobs, and he continues to play an integral role in the revitalization effort of Downtown Keene.

Jack earned his B.A. from Tufts University. He is certified by the National Development Council as an Economic Development Finance Professional.

James Key-Wallace has served as the Vice President of MEDC since 2006. Prior to joining the organization, he served three years as a Marketing Manager with Staff Development for Educators in Peterborough. He is also on the board of the Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter, a non-profit serving the homeless population in our community.

James earned his Business Administration and Computer Science degrees from St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and his Master's of Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University.

Lori Schmidt serves MEDC as the Controller. She is a licensed CPA with eleven years of not-for-profit auditing and two years of public accounting experience. She joined the MEDC staff in August 2002.

Lori earned her Business Administration Degree from Fitchburg State College and her Masters Degree from Bentley College.

Debbie Cohen and serves as Bookkeeper. Debbie has many years of experience as a corporate senior accountant as well as more recently the Business Manager for the Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton (non-profit) and Controller for the Emile J. Legere Property Management Company in Keene.

Debbie earned her B.A. at New York University.

Elliott currently serves on the Governor's Council for Developmental Disabilities in Concord NH. A member of the New Hampshire Society of CPA's. Elliott was one of the pioneers in Keene Downtown Development as a General Partner of Landmark Development in the development of the Carriage House Condominiums as well as The Cracker Factory Condominiums both on Church Street, downtown Keene. A New Hampshire native, he resides with his wife, Norma at The Carriage House.

Peter Gosline is Chief Executive Officer of Monadnock Community Hospital. Gosline was named a Grassroots ChampionÓ in April, 2006 by the American Hospital Association(AHA) , for bringing the needs of rural hospitals into the forefront. He also served as Chairman of the NHHA Board in from September 2004 to September 2005, and is currently the AHA RBP delegate for small and rural hospitals. Gosline and his wife, Connie, reside in Peterborough, N.H and have four grown children.
