Accessing the Capabilities of MEDC

MEDC has a long track record of successful projects throughout the Monadnock Region. Many of these projects include partnering with organizations that specialize in areas outside of the MEDC mission statement, such as housing, retail or recreation. The staff of MEDC has visioning capabilities and experience in combining multiple funding sources that enable the most complicated of projects to develop. The staff is responsive, and will assist in identifying the needs and potential of your project. Contact MEDC to discuss the opportunities available to your business. Preliminary steps may include providing your business plan and projections, in addition to basic financial information.

MEDC, by utilizing the NH Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), has established a Regional Revolving Loan Fund. Loan amounts, terms and rates are negotiable based on a company's needs and qualifying criteria. CDBG amounts are based on job creation/retention commitments, and are leveraged against matching funds by the business.

Loans from MEDC are also available through the USDA Rural Development Intermediary Re-lending Program (IRP). The program is designed to offer qualifying businesses access to funding that fills a gap between conventional bank financing and business equity. Loan amounts cannot be more than 50% of the total project and require a match from the business. Rates and terms are negotiable.

Other sources of funding that MEDC has access to include:

• The NH Business Finance Authority (BFA) which offers low interest industrial revenue bond financing
• The NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA), which has the ability to grant state tax credits based on 75% of the value of the donation for Authority approved community development projects. Contributors could donate either real property of cash.
